A long awaited critique of Labour's current crisis by backbench deputy leadership contender, Jon Cruddas has been published in the new edition of the New Statesman according to a report in the Daily Telegraph.
Mr Cruddas, writing with Jon Trickett, a leading Left-wing MP, links the donations scandal to the concentration of power in the hands of the party leadership and Labour's courtship of business leaders and other wealthy individuals.
"Looking at the Government's nightmarish predicament, one thought occurs time and again: that New Labour's chickens are coming home to roost," they write.
Extracts are also published in other morning papers. The LabOUR Commission has offered to organise a round table with the Fabians, Compass and Party officials, and advisors to kick start Labour Party renewal, a difficult task in current circumstances. Jon and the Fabians have already agreed. We are just waiting for the Party hierarchy.
