Well, the rules of engagement for Fresh-Ideas appear to have been changed. My last Fresh-Idea has been published! This is an improvement. Last week some wag asked "Is this worst website in British Politics today?"
Here's an extract from the website today:
Peter Kenyon (#CLW) Louisa makes an important point about funding higher education out of general taxation. If New Labour is really behind us now, so is our lamentable failure to make the case for progressive taxation since 1997
Peter Kenyon (#CLW), 20-12-2010.....
Fund higher education through general taxation- not just graduate tax or student loans. It's in everyone's interest that the brightest are highly qualified, not just the richest or those with family backing.
Note - I am identified by first name, surname and CLP. That was achieved by putting all three pieces of information in the first name field on Home Page promoted by Ray Collins and delivered by Tangent Labs. But you cannot click on my name and eMail me, or find my website. I would be delighted if you could.
However, I don't want to appear churlish. So the next question is am I alone, or part of a trend? This is important, today our new leader announced a new spend a penny scheme - join the Labour Party if you are young and want to speak out.
It would be such a shame to be encouraging new members and condemning them to speaking down a black hole.
I would like the opportunity to communicate directly with Louisa. She can ignore me, if she doesn't want to reply. But the command and control freaks running the Labour Party don't think that I should have that opportunity or Louisa should have that choice.
(Forget GT get PT?....just incase you are wondering ...forget Graduate Tax get Progressive Taxation - I know it's not a Fresh-Idea..But it's one Louisa seems to think is, and I think she's on to something. Maybe Ed and the front bench team will get it one day.)
So if you are dying to spend a penny, maybe you should hang on a few minutes, hours, days, weeks or even years until they get it right.
