Restoring trust in MPs expense claims - postponed

Further evidence of the gulf between MPs of all mainstream political parties and the electorate came tonight with the announcement of a wide-ranging enquiry into MPs expenses. It will report in one, two, three, six   no nine rpt nine months' time. Well that's alright, more time to top up the pension fund, boost the beer fund, keep the kids in the manner to which they have become accustomed. Whose moral compass is in spin? Which party leader will have the gumption to take the Members' Estimates Committee, chaired by Speaker Martin to task? Which one with dither? You are the weakest link. Goodbye.
