Labour Party members are being invited to sign up for its Spring Conference here as delegates. (The link only works if you are a member of the Labour Party - so sign up now*). Without wishing to be too picky, I think they really mean visitors as no one will be delegated to decide anything at this event. However, it is better than this year when the event was cancelled in favour of regional activities that proved less successful than hoped.
*Then you might get to go to Spring Conference 2009. (According to the small print 'delegates' are only eligible if in membership for more than a year.) I don't know if Jon Mendelsohn, Director of General Election resources was consulted but I would have thought we needed to attract as big a crowd as possible. If new members could vote for a new Leader/Deputy within weeks of joining why can't they go and network at the Spring Conference? Doh!
