Labour leader marginal seat strategy blunder

So junk mail and the internet are the answer.  That's Gordon Brown's remedy to growing concerns among Labour MPs in marginal seats, according to the Times report of yesterday's Parliamentary Labour Party meeting. The report said:

Mr Brown, addressing a lengthy meeting of the Parliamentary Labour Party at Westminster, tried to assure his MPs that he could strengthen their defence of marginal seats with more help in direct mailing and internet campaigning.

Perhaps the "teenagers" could redeem themselves by having a quiet word in his shell-like. We need more people out on the doorstep. More urgently, Brown needs to get up to speed on campaign spending. In electoral terms, the blunders of his predecessor in abandoning tight spending caps during the passage of the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Bill have got to be rectified in the next session of Parliament as a matter of urgency.

Wake up, No 10.
